Dear Texas Republican,

You are part of the heart and soul of a great political party. You deserve a clear and effective voice on the Republican National Committee. You deserve experienced and proven leadership on the Republican National Committee. I want to provide that voice and that leadership for the next four years.

Texas Republicans are people of ideals and ideas.

With our ideals the Republican Party of Texas has grown incredibly. Once we could meet in a very small room. Now we are one of the largest political parties in the country, one of the biggest groups of economic and social conservatives in the world. We support less government, lower taxes, strong national defense and the preservation of personal rights, including the right of private property ownership, the right to life for the unborn, the aged and the incapacitated, the right to keep and bear arms, and the right to educate our children in private schools or at home if we choose to do so. We strongly oppose the tyranny of activist judges, and the preservation of that tyranny by a minority of the members of the United States Senate. Our ideals are winners. They must be clearly and effectively promoted on the national level. They can help the national party win more elections.

I have been a Texas Republican since before I could vote, when I worked for the Eisenhower campaign on my college campus.

For six years I was the precinct chairman and election judge in my precinct in Austin. Previously I served the Party as a very young County Chairman in a rural county and as Vice-chairman in Travis County. I have also served as the 14th Senatorial District Convention Chairman, 14th Senatorial District Caucus Chairman and 14th Senatorial District Convention Resolutions Committee Chairman. I was a member of the Platform Committee at the State Convention in 2002. For four years I was on the State Republican Executive Committee (the SREC), where I chaired the Resolutions Committee and the Republican Party of Texas Audit Committee.

The Texas State Flag

Since 1964, the first time I was a delegate to a State Convention, I have been a delegate to many other State, District and County Conventions. I even had the opportunity to be the voice in the radio commercials the state party used when the Democrat quorum busters ran and hid in Oklahoma and New Mexico.

Most of you have done or will do many of the same things when you have the same opportunities I have had. We really are a grassroots party.

I want nothing more than for the Republican Party of Texas to be even stronger than it is today, and for the Republican Party of the United States to become as dominant in national politics as the Texas party is in Texas politics.

A clear and effective Texas voice on the Republican National Committee for another four years can help that become a reality. I will appreciate your support and your vote at the State Convention in Houston in June to provide that voice.

Thank you for all you do for Texas and the Grand Old Party.

Sincerely,

Bill Crocker
